Parksessies is a three day festival just before the summer vacations begin. The free festival is hosted in one of the parks in Haarlem, The Netherlands. It brings a wide variety of art, bands, performances and poetry.
The start on Friday, 12 july, was wet. It rained all day and by the time the festival started the there were pauses between the showers. Despite the weather I did see Kaya! Check @kayajuyane on Intstagram.

Saturday afternoon the artists from Hart opened the Graspodium stage. The young and up coming artists work hard on their individual music skills, learn to work and play together and… as under the name Hart Talent on Tour they play on a regular basis at venues and festivals around town. When Loks opened the show the sun started to shine. At the end during the performance of the Notulist it started to rain again, but that didn’t stop the party!
On the field Roze Royllsch was busy with wool, carding, spinning weaving.
Last band I went to see was Girl Trip. It could have been Purple Lipstick as they hadn’t any better before their first gig at Lokaal.

On Sunday the weather was better. The sun was out and the new lake which had formed in the park was gone. Time for the Tante Leen Back Band. There is fado, blues and the Dutch version of songs about life as we know it… smartlappen. I don’t like smartlappen, … but I know their leadsinger can sing… so, I gave it a try. Jasmijn and Jolijn, triggered by Martijn, dug in the repertoire of Tante Leen and selected the best known and less known gems. They took it to the stage and gave a great show!
