The 36th Open Mic Night of Singer Songwriter Cirkel Haarlem in Lokaal – Dutch Beer Bar was an evening with a lot of new events. Gert-Jan Kooren presented the evening for the first time! Gwan Brandhorst shared good covers of protest songs to cheer up the crowd. Sarah Koolhaas followed up with covers on the ukulele.
Peter Stufkens and Martin Meinardi never played together and had a few gigs lined up. The Open Mic Night was the perfect event to try out their rock songs. Martin picked up the a bass guitar a month ago. He looked already very comfortable with it! After two songs in English they finished off with one in Dutch. It was a tribute to the city of Haarlem in the style of Lennaert Nijgh. The lyrics were written by Jan Willem Reitsma.
Harm Rieske is used to play for fellow students. The great thing is he started to share his music with the rest of the world. He prepared two songs for the night. It was about dating and childhood, both were easy te relate too.
