The Open Mic Night organised by Singer Songwriter Cirkel Haarlem in Café Lokaal was full of surprises on February the 5th, 2019. Ellis Freijser opened the evening. Songs about materialism, inspiration, treasured memories or her sister… Ellis has it all. Jasmijn M. Helweg and Judith Wesselius, supported by Gwan Brandhorst on guitar, shared Everly Brothers classics.
For Mark Werkman it was the last Open Mic in Lokaal. That didn’t stop him from adding a brand-new song to his set! Thomas Triemstra is always looking for ways to improve his songs. This time he shared a new version of an existing song. As the Open Mic is a great opportunity to try new material in front of friendly fellow musicians he showcased two new songs.
Timothy Hanford visited the Open Mic in Lokaal for the first time. Covering songs of Jackson Browne and Bob Dylan in a smooth clear voice that just made you listen! Allison Meekins shared one song. It was a double first for her… being on stage without a band and… playing her own song for an audience!
Rob Alphenaar opened his doors for the musicians, presented the evening while serving a great variety of Dutch beers!
