The month doesn’t really start before the Open Mic Night organized by the Singer Songwriter Cirkel Haarlem in café Lokaal in Haarlem. A tradition that started 26 months ago in café Briljant.
Gwan Brandhorst opened the night to ensure he could enjoy the rest of the evening with a nice beer in hand. Tes played both guitar and piano to share great songs about serious subjects like vivisection.
Somebody, faraway on a boat in the Danish waters, challenged Dutch Cassidy to write a song in Dutch and he shared the song the same day! He also shared the Dutch song which got him kicked out of the Grote Prijs van Nederland competition in 1992. P!en turned the bar into a jazzy nightclub once again, and, supported by Rob Wtenweerde, shared her an original. The extra good news is that she will work on new material this summer. Rob Wtenweerde showed off his language skills in a single song and had a new LGTB anthem!
Thomas Triemstra is writing songs for many years and he shared some of his older material. He will also be playing at the release party of Dan German‘s album at the end of the month. Dan himself used the night to get all the emotional trouble out of his system to be ready for the big event on june 27 at café Lokaal.
Jasper Schalks presented the night and Rob Alphenaar took care of the technique and beerdistribution
