November had an awesome start as the Singer Songwriter Cirkel Haarlem had her Open Mic Night At CafĂ© Briljant on i’ts first day. Tes opened the night on piano. Everybody was listening so quietly while she played that nobody dared to order a drink. Pien van de Rest entertained the crowd from the mainstage with a couple of beautiful classics. Gwan Brandhorst brought sad songs and… teamed up again with Judith Wesselius for the Johnny Cash version of the Roberta Flack classic The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. Juliette van Dijk, who is a regular cub of To The Wolves, shared a couple of her songs tonight. She had support from Judith as well. Mark Werkman always plays what he feels is best for the occasion. It was the right time and place to share release candidate 1 of a brand new song. Maarten Eysker loves to play and borrowed Marks guitar to entertain and educate us. The night ended with the traditional improvised performance of To The Wolves in which Martijn Comes beatboxed and fished for soundbites.
