Situated along the road N205 in Haarlem is a nice house. The banker Henry Hope and king Lodewijk Napoleon owned it for a while. Now it is the house of the assembly of the province of North-Holland. The can do something about polution of Tata Steel in IJmuiden, but they don’t.
There for Extinction Rebellion reminds them on a regular basis of their responsibility to protect the people living in the are of the steel factory. This can be a small protest, camping in front of their door… or… blocking the road infront of the building. June 7, 2024, it was the second time a blockade was setup. The first time they could stay for eighteen hours.
I wanted to do a series, but in the beginning of the evening the blockade was already removed by the police.
